Arbusto sempreverde ,rapido, rustico, non richiede tanta acqua e non soffre di nessuna fitopatia, rispetto ad altre siepi come il lauroceraso, altezza media 50-60 cm vaso incluso, i cui giovani fusti e la pagina inferiore delle foglie sono ricoperti da un sottile strato tomentoso e da scagliette di colore argenteo-bronzeo. Gruppi di fiorellini bianchi, profumati, compaiono in autunno, seguiti da piccole bacche rosse, molto amati da volatili. Le dimensioni e l’aspetto possono variare a seconda della stagione e del periodo in cui viene acquistata, ma solitamente sono alte non meno di 50 cm con vaso.
Rispetto alla varietà Ebbingei verde, è più lenta nella crescita, conservando comunque gli aspetti positivi come la quasi immunità a fitopatie comuni alle piante.
