Entra in produzione precocemente. I fiori hanno bassa percentuale di ovari abortiti. Autoincompatibile, come impollinatori sono stati segnalati: ’Moraiolo’, ’Pendolino’, ’Maurino’, ’Frantoio’, ’Morchiaio’, ’Gremignolo di Bolgheri’, ’Piangente’, ’Razzo’, ’Trillo’ e ’Frantoio’.
La produttività è elevata e costante. La maturazione dei frutti è precoce e contemporanea, con una ridotta resistenza al distacco. Il contenuto in olio è basso. Il distacco della polpa dal nocciolo risulta agevole.
Di questa cultivar è stata segnalata una particolare tolleranza al freddo, all’occhio di pavone, alla carie e alla rogna; mentre è stata evidenziata un’accentuata sensibilità alla fumaggine.
