La Hardenbergia è una pianta appartenente alla famiglia delle Fabaceae. È originaria dell’Australia dove cresce in habitat differenti: dai boschi alle montagne e alle zone marittime. Grazie al bel fogliame e ai fiori è perfetta per decorare giardini e muretti di cinta. L’hardenbergia è una pianta rampicante sempreverde. Si presenta con un fusto legnoso che può raggiungere un’altezza di 3 metri ed é in grado di attorcigliarsi sui tronchi di altre piante. Le foglie, a seconda della varietà, possono essere ovali o strette; sono coriacee, di colore verde scuro intenso e con venature appariscenti.
