1 PITAYA PLANT in pot 20 height 110 CM DRAGON FRUIT self-fertile variety RED PULP or WHITE PULP, there will be no fruit, it will produce them next year, available red, yellow and green colour, please specify in the notes, unless sold

The plants have identification tags and are produced in Italy.

Pitaya is a cactus with long 'branches' that can grow up to 6-12 metres and have a creeping or drooping habit. The plant, native to the Americas and well known to pre-Columbian civilisations, forms aerial roots with which it can attach itself to other trees or rocks. The flowers are greenish-white, around 25-30 cm long and between 15 and 20 cm in diameter. They produce nectar to attract pollinators and emit a strong vanilla scent during flowering. Pitaya flowers bloom at sunset and close during the day, which is why the plant is also called the Queen of the Night. The Pitaya fruit is 5 to 12 cm long with a diameter of 4 to 9 cm, its colour varies from deep pink to red, with large greenish bracts.

NB it is self-fertile, but in Italian areas, especially in the centre-north, pollination by hand is necessary, when it is in bloom (the flower lasts 24 hours) take some pollen from the flower with a brush, and spread it on the inside and yellow part of the flower, after a few weeks, the fruit will sprout, I attach a youtube link showing how to do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63M3y6av_Zs&list=PLpmmcroE28iGMAgjU9Y7M9PLI1uJHm0zO&index=2

Gut durchwurzelt kam diese leider gelbe Pflanze bei uns an. Ein Stück war angebrochen das aber gerettet werden konnte.
