The Clementino Rubino is a citrus fruit with a good sweet flavour and super red pigmentation, being a mutation of the very productive common clementine. The small size of the plant is appreciated in pot cultivation. The Citrus clementina 'Rubino' is a vigorous citrus fruit that is very similar to the clementine. Its main characteristic is undoubtedly the colouring of its pulp, which is ruby red when fully ripe because it is rich in anthocyanins with great antioxidant power. The flowers, which appear in spring, are large, white and very fragrant. The small to medium-sized fruits start turning red late, reaching full ripeness in winter between the end of December and January. The Citrus clementina 'Rubino' requires the same attention as any other citrus fruit, light, water, the right degree of acidity of the soil and nutrition. It is suitable for cultivation in pots and in northern regions of Italy requires shelter in a cold greenhouse in winter.
