Chinese Syriacus is a perennial outdoor plant native to Asia and belonging to the Malvaceae family. It is a small deciduous shrub with an upright habit that grows to a height of a couple of metres, characterised by a trunk with rough, dark-brown bark and dense branches on which the small, dark-green, oval or lobed leaves with jagged edges develop. Flowering takes place in summer producing large semi-double flowers consisting of blue-violet petals with a reddish centre. It withstands low temperatures very well and is easy to cultivate, making it ideal and appreciated for the formation of flowering hedges or as a single ornamental plant to be planted both in the garden and in containers; it prefers exposures in all areas where direct sun is prevalent but also adapts well to locations in half-shade. It does not require a particular soil, although a universal one of good quality and with excellent drainage is recommended, to be regularly watered in summer with gradual reduction in the colder months and in any case to be done always when the substratum is dry and without stagnations.
NB only variety to withstand harsh climates.

Description (expired) Beautiful, young, dense and lush hedge plants, several branches per plant, fairly dense plants This plant is one of the most popular evergreen plants for making a brilliant and fragrant hedge. It is mainly used for hedging, screening and protecting gardens. In fine weather the plant also produces small white flowers that can have a discreet ornamental effect. Advice: Plants should be planted about 60 to 70 centimetres apart if you want to cover them quickly, they do not require excessive watering and can reach up to 8 metres in height if not pruned. It does not require excessive care and attention and can be positioned either in sun or in half-shade, it also does not require as much water as other hedges. Note: The appearance of the plant may vary little in height from another, they are living beings not artificial objects, but they are all selected one by one, they are all nice and thick. |
