Cereus Forbesi Spiralis also called Cereus Jamacaru Spirlis a succulent plant native to South America and belonging to the Cactaceae family. It is a plant that can grow up to 10-12 metres in the wild, but cultivated in pots it remains fairly modest; it has dark green, cylindrical, columnar stems formed by several spiral ribs on which the long spines spread. Flowering occurs in spring and summer when white and pink flowers bloom, which have the peculiarity of opening at night and then closing again during the day. Cereus is an easy-to-grow cactus that requires exposure in sunny locations although it adapts to areas where there is half-shade; in winter it is best to place it in a flat and ensure that the temperature is above 10 degrees. It requires soil typical for cacti with excellent drainage, while watering must be regular in the warmer periods and scarce in winter, allowing the substrate to dry out and avoiding any form of stagnation.
