La pianta di Albizia julibrissin (Acacia di Costantinopoli) è un piccolo albero deciduo proveniente dalle regioni tropicali e subtropicali dell’Antica Persia e del Giappone. Sviluppa foglie simili alla felce, da verde chiaro a verde medio, lunghe 30-40 cm, con piccole foglioline falciformi. In estate produce mazzetti terminali, larghi 7-15 cm, di capolini floreali sferici, di colore giallo-verde, larghi 3,5 cm, con stami bianchi e rosa. Può raggiungere l’altezza di circa 6 metri e larghezza di 4-6 metri. Coltivata per l’elegante fogliame e la copiosa fioritura estiva, è utilizzata come pianta isolata o in filari.
